Karyn Koven Ed.d.

Karyn Koven, Ed.D. has an extensive work experience in the field of education. Karyn is the Founder/CEO of LanguageBird, an online school for world language courses that is WASC and Cognia accredited, University of California and NCAA approved. LanguageBird has been recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in education.

Prior to LanguageBird, Karyn worked at HighTech LA as a Founding Faculty, Assistant Principal, Administrator, and Director of College Counseling and Internships. HighTech LA achieved significant recognition as a CA Gold Ribbon School and a top charter high school in California. Karyn also partnered with prestigious institutions to bring innovative arts and engineering programs to the school.

Before HighTech LA, Karyn was a Language Arts/English/Writing/Journalism Teacher and Counselor at LAUSD. Karyn taught students of all grade levels, addressed diverse student needs, and implemented a project-based learning system.

Through their various roles, Karyn has demonstrated expertise in education, leadership, and program development.

Karyn Koven, Ed.D. received their Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from UCLA in the years 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and Journalism Bachelor's degree (J.B.A.) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1994 to 1998. Koven also attended Harvard-Westlake School from 1990 to 1994, although their degree and field of study are not specified.

In addition to their academic degrees, Karyn Koven holds several certifications.
