Hank Horton

Hank Horton is an accomplished bassist and vocalist with extensive experience in various musical settings. Currently, Hank serves as the bassist and vocalist for Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter's Band and participates as an electric and acoustic bass sub for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Since September 2016, Hank has been an instructor of jazz, focusing on acoustic and electric bass at Hillsdale College, while also performing with the faculty jazz quintet, The Hillcats. Other roles include section bassist for the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and double bass for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Hank has a robust freelance career, including a current national tour with the 101 Dalmatians Musical, and has performed with several other groups, such as Rockin' The Paradise and The Kos Ritmos Latin Jazz Orchestra. Educationally, Hank holds a Master of Music in String Bass Performance from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Music in String Bass Performance from Central Michigan University.
