Sr. Motion Designer at Las Vegas Sands

George Van Der Volgen has had an extensive work experience in the field of design and motion graphics. ☄ George is currently working as a Lead UX Motion Designer for the Las Vegas Sands Corp. since April 2022. Prior to this, George worked as a Creative Director and Freelance Designer at WanderVolgen from August 2013 to April 2022.

George also has experience working at well-known companies such as Mozilla and Microsoft. At Mozilla, they served as a Lead UX Motion Designer for the Product team from September 2021 to February 2022. At Microsoft, they held the position of Product Designer 3 in two instances, from April 2021 to July 2021 and in March 2020.

Before that, George worked as a Senior UX Motion Designer at Microsoft from June 2019 to December 2019, where they played a significant role in animating, designing, and developing experimental features for Edge and MSN. ☄ George also contributed to the creation of a top-secret in-browser game called Project Malibu.

Aside from the tech industry, George has experience in the animation and design field. ☄ George served as a 3D & Animation Art Director at Golder from November 2018 to October 2019, where they worked on creating AR and 3D content for a multimillion-dollar litigation. George also worked as an Animator at Amazon from July 2017 to August 2018, where they animated and completed post-production for Alexa UI, Alexa Services, and corporate partners.

Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Animator & Designer at Run Studios from May 2017 to August 2018. During this time, they worked with clients such as Amazon, Gerber, Microsoft, and Tableau.

In addition, George has experience as an Assistant Creative Director at The Optera Group, LLC from January 2016 to May 2017. In this role, they assisted the Creative Director and worked with clients such as Cisco, Comcast, Covidien, Digital Globe, Medtronic, and VMware.

George Van Der Volgen completed their education at two different universities. From 2001 to 2007, they attended SUNY Oneonta, where they earned a BA in Music and Business with a focus on Audio Engineering. Later, from 2009 to 2012, they attended the State University of New York Cortland, where they completed a BA in New Media Design with a focus on 3D Design & Animation.
