Dave Matthews

Dave Matthews has a diverse background in the laser technology industry. Dave began their career as a DAAD Scholarship Research Associate at the University of Hamburg, where they focused on diode pumped solid-state laser development. Dave then worked as a Software Engineer at MedIS GmbH in Hamburg, Germany before becoming a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of St. Andrews.

In 1996, Matthews joined Light Solutions Corporation as Director of Laser Systems, where they were involved in various aspects of the business, including business development, sales & marketing, and customer service. Dave also played a role in the development of industrial and scientific laser systems.

Dave then moved to Iridex Corporation as an R&D Manager, where they designed laser systems for ophthalmology and aesthetics. Matthews also worked at Coherent Inc as a Product Line Manager, responsible for marketing and business strategy for semiconductor laser diode product lines.

Dave later took on the role of Consultant at VNUS Medical Technologies, specializing in medical laser systems. Dave also worked as a Consultant at Incline Photonics, providing consultation for industrial and medical companies.

From 2010 to 2012, Matthews served as Manager of Customer Support at Laserline Inc before being promoted to Director of Customer Support, High Power Laser Systems in 2012.

Dave Matthews completed their Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from Monash University from 1979 to 1983. Dave pursued their PhD in Laser Physics at Macquarie University from 1984 to 1990 and graduated with the degree. From 1990 to 1992, they attended the University of Hamburg, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
