Varun Syal

Varun Syal has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Varun is currently serving as the Vice President (Executive) - Strategy & Business Analytics at Lasko Products, where they play a central role in establishing strategic priorities and initiatives. Varun is also responsible for creating performance analytics and managing resources. Prior to this, Varun held the position of Head of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning, where they focused on improving inventory health and customer fill-rates. Varun integrated automated reporting tools to enhance workflow efficiency. Before that, Varun served as the Senior Director - Growth, Strategy & Business Operations, where they established a new business function and developed sales strategies. Varun also led a business turnaround for a subsidiary of Lasko, resulting in significant improvement in EBITDA. At Lasko, Varun also served as the Director - Business Finance, where they set up the Financial Planning & Analysis function and drove company sales and profitability. Varun implemented new sales forecasting models and provided analytical packages for strategic decision-making.

Prior to joining Lasko, Varun worked at Lutron Electronics for several years. Varun held positions such as Senior Manager - Global Financial Analysis & Sales Operations, where they led a global team and drove international sales and profitability. Varun achieved consecutive annual sales growth and profitability objectives. Varun also served as the Regional Leader – Sales Operations, India Subcontinent, where they established the Sales Ops structure in India and merged the India Sales Ops and Service Center for cost savings and employee retention. Earlier in their career at Lutron, they worked as a Senior Analyst across various business units and in the Global Sales function, partnering with different levels to drive planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.

Varun began their career as an Intern at BearingPoint.

Varun Syal completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) with Honors in Finance & Accountancy (Dual Degree) from Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2002 and 2006. In 2022-2023, they pursued a Professional Certificate in Strategic Management from The Wharton School.
