Carla Mena

Carla Mena has extensive experience in capacity building and health policy, currently serving as the Director of Capacity Building Assistance Operations and holding multiple roles at the Latino Commission on AIDS since January 2021. Carla is also the Founder and CEO of Culture X-Factor, launched in January 2021. Prior roles include Clinical Research Coordinator at Duke University Health System, where responsibilities involved managing research projects within the Department of Pediatrics, and Evaluation Consultant at Gold Mind Instructional Services, focusing on training related to cultural responsiveness and health disparities. Carla's background in program coordination at the Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research and project consultancy with the World Health Organization further reflects a commitment to addressing public health challenges. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Meredith College and certifications in interpreting for social justice and emergency management.
