Tony Sanneh

Inaugural Cohort Elevating Black Leaders In Sports at Laureus

Tony Sanneh is the Founder and CEO of The Sanneh Foundation, established in 2003, and has been active in various leadership roles, including being part of the inaugural cohort of Elevating Black Leaders in Sport at Laureus since February 2021. As a Sports Envoy for the U.S. Department of State since 2010, Sanneh uses sports to foster international relations and development. Previously, Sanneh was recognized as a 2019 Bush Fellow and founded The Just Game Company, serving as its CEO from 2013 to 2021. Sanneh's professional soccer career includes playing for Major League Soccer and representing the United States in the 2002 World Cup, alongside stints in Germany's football leagues. Sanneh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Engagement and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, completed in 2021.
