Zachary Buerkle

Zachary Buerkle is an accomplished industrial designer and founder of Shacked Surfboards, a custom hollow-wooden surfboard company established in March 2024. Currently serving as a staff industrial designer at Laut Design since July 2023, Zachary has previously held positions including custom play designer at PlayPower, Inc. and freelance woodworker/designer at Buerkle Woodworking. Extensive experience includes fine woodworking at ARBR Studio, LLC, and industrial design roles at Bz Design and James Plukas Furniture, where Zachary honed skills in sketching, rendering, prototyping, and CAD using SolidWorks and Autodesk. Zachary's formal education culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Product Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology, completed in 2016.
