John W. Uhlein has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 2019, they served as the Chairman and CEO of Lavit, a leading eco-friendly single serve beverage technology company. Prior to that, they were the Managing Principal and Founder of Grenadier Capital LLC since 2009. John also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at New York University starting in 2014. John W. served as a Board Observer at CFX Markets (now known as OpenFinance Network) from 2016 to 2021 when it was sold to INX Limited. Additionally, John was the Chairman of StoneHouse Search Partners LLC from 2013 to 2014. Previously, they held executive positions at Ambac Financial Group, including Executive Vice President from 1993 to 2008 and Chairman of Ambac UK, LTD from 2000 to 2004. Their career began at Financial Security Assurance as a Managing Director in 1989, followed by a role as Vice President at Kidder, Peabody from 1985 to 1989. John started their career as a Senior Associate at Skadden Arps from 1983 to 1985.
John W. Uhlein's education history begins with their enrollment at Choate Rosemary Hall in 1973, where they studied for two years. In 1975, they moved on to Hamilton College and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, completing their studies in 1979. That same year, they joined Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management and earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree by 1981. Concurrently, Uhlein pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at Syracuse University College of Law, also completing it in 1981.
