Tim Hirschel-Burns

Tim Hirschel-Burns is a policy liaison for the Global Economic Governance Initiative at Boston University Global Development Policy Center since September 2023. Tim co-founded Law Students for Climate Accountability in October 2020 and has been an active contributor, serving as lead author for the Law Firm Climate Change Scorecard series and the 2023 report on law school participation in the fossil fuel lawyer pipeline. Previously, Tim was the Bernstein International Human Rights Fellow at Oxfam America, focusing on extractive industries, and served as student director of the Lowenstein International Human Rights Clinic at Yale Law School. Tim has held various internships, including with the UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights and the Center for International Environmental Law, and has experience teaching in the Peace Corps. Tim holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a bachelor's degree with high honors in Political Science from Swarthmore College.
