Claudia Bustos has a diverse work experience in various positions related to public engagement, creative experience, and science education. Claudia'smost recent role was as the Public Engagement Executive Director at Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley starting in October 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief of Creative Experience at Fort Calgary from October 2021 to September 2022. Claudia also held multiple roles at TELUS Spark Science Centre, including Executive Producer, Director of Creative Environment, and Director of Creative Learning Experiences from 2019 to 2021. Before that, they were the Director of Alumni Programs and Services at the University of Calgary from December 2017 to June 2019. Claudia also worked at Beakerhead as the Director of Community Engagement and the Edmonton Heritage Council as the City Museum Strategy Coordinator. Claudia started their career as a Primate Scientist at Operation Wallacea in 2007.
Claudia Bustos completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Honours, Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Windsor from 2003 to 2008. In 2009, they pursued Open Studies in Anthropology at the University of Calgary. Currently, Claudia is pursuing a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Calgary, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2024.
