Jonathan Curley has extensive work experience in the field of education and curriculum development. Jonathan is currently serving as the Associate Director of the Learning Design Group at the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley. Prior to this role, Jonathan held the position of Senior Curriculum Specialist at the same institution, where they contributed to the creation and refinement of design principles for middle school science curriculum. Jonathan also supervised and mentored other curriculum developers and played a key role in selecting topics and central explanations for Earth science and physical science units. Jonathan's previous experience includes working as a Bilingual Elementary School Teacher in the West Contra Costa Unified School District, where they taught classes of low-income students with diverse abilities. Jonathan has also served as a Fellow for the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, where they completed a self-designed year-long project outside of the United States.
Jonathan Curley obtained a teaching certificate from Cal State TEACH between 2002 and 2004. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Oberlin College from 1996 to 2000, earning a Bachelor's degree in Sociology & Environmental Studies.
