Mac Cannady has a diverse work experience spanning various research, teaching, and consulting roles. In 2018, Mac served as the Research Group Director at the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley. Prior to this, from 2011 to 2018, Mac held the position of Director of Quantitative Studies at the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley. Mac also worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Education Development Center in 2010. Additionally, Mac served as a Consultant at the Museum of Science, the Rennie Center, SimBiotic Software (MIT Research Laboratory), and Outside The Classroom at different periods. Mac also has experience as an Evaluator at Assabet Valley Schools, Teaching American History. In terms of teaching experience, Mac worked as an Assistant Rowing Coach and Research Fellow at Boston College from 2006 to 2010. Mac started their career as a Physics teacher at St. Ignatius College Preparatory from 2001 to 2006.
Mac Cannady earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Santa Clara University, which they attended from 1996 to 2000. From 2002 to 2004, they pursued a California Science Teaching Credential at the University of San Francisco. Mac later attended Boston College from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Doctorate in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation.
