Eric Puma, PhD has held various roles in research and development in the optics and lighting industry. From 2022 to present, they have served as the Optics and Lighting R+D Manager at Lazurite. From 2017 to 2022, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at Harvard University in the Laboratory for Nanoscale Optics, where they developed state of the art nanoscale electro-optic photon routing networks with sub-nanosecond switching speeds, led the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of thousands of optical structures across hundreds of devices, and discovered and solved a major device stability challenge. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Research and Development Engineer at ICFO, where they translated a novel nanoscale light-sensing technology into proof-of-concept prototype sensor arrays for infrared imaging and medical spectroscopy, and shared prototypes at global technology exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Eric Puma, PhD earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2022. Eric previously obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Pomona College in 2014.
