Ruggiero Seccia

Ruggiero Seccia is a Machine Learning Engineer III at LyondellBasell since July 2024 and serves as an Education Mentor for Lead The Future Mentorship, where guidance is provided to students in science and engineering. Previously, Ruggiero worked as a Machine Learning/Operations Research Engineer at ORTEC from March 2021 to May 2024, focusing on advanced AI projects to enhance decision-making tools and currently leading a Deep Learning initiative for travel time estimation. Ruggiero has also held adjunct professor roles at Sapienza Università di Roma, teaching Operations Research courses, and has contributed as an IT trainer at Powercoders Italia. An internship at IBM involved developing machine learning and optimization tools for client applications, and Ruggiero conducted research on overparameterized theories of deep models as a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ruggiero holds a PhD in Operations Research and multiple degrees in Management Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma and Université de Namur.
