Karen Freeman

Karen Freeman has extensive work experience in various roles within the banking and financial services industry. Karen most recently served as the Chief Operations Officer at Leaders Credit Union, where they oversaw the day-to-day operations of the organization. Prior to this, Karen worked as the Vice President of Community Engagement and the Business Development Manager at the same credit union.

Before joining Leaders Credit Union, Karen was employed by First Citizens National Bank as the Vice President and Financial Center Manager. Karen was responsible for managing the financial center and leading the team in delivering exceptional customer service.

Karen also worked at First State as a Financial Services Officer, where they were responsible for driving profitability and adhering to strategic business goals in defined Tennessee markets.

Early in their career, Karen worked at Sumner Bank & Trust as the Vice President and Marketing Director. In this role, they developed and executed marketing strategies, co-managed the bank's treasury management department, and assisted with commercial sales efforts.

Karen also gained experience in marketing as the Marketing Director at Insbank, where they created collateral for sales efforts and managed marketing initiatives.

Karen began their career as an Admissions Counselor at Lambuth University, where they recruited students and created recruitment publications.

Karen Freeman attended Gallatin High School from 1994 to 1997. Karen then enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1997 to 1999, studying Interior Design. After that, they transferred to the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from 2000 to 2002.
