Bernadette Orr

Bernadette Orr is an experienced consultant and leader in community development, nonprofit management, and organizational change. As the founder of opengate consulting since 2018, Bernadette utilizes over 25 years of experience working with diverse nonprofit organizations and has certifications in coaching and facilitation. Currently serving as the Director of North Shore Community Health Network, Bernadette leads initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for underrepresented groups in the region. Additionally, Bernadette collaborates with Leadership that Works as a consultant, capturing the transformative stories of a coaching program. Other notable roles include Chair of the Governance Committee at Beverly Bootstraps and Director of the National Community Building and Engagement Program at NeighborWorks America, where Bernadette promoted best practices and supported community leadership. Bernadette's previous experience includes key positions at Red Tomato, Circle of Women, WIEGO, and Oxfam America, complemented by a Master's degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
