Mimi Walters has a diverse and extensive work experience, spanning various industries and sectors. In 2015, they served as a Member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives, where they were a part of the House Energy & Commerce and Ethics committees. Mimi also held leadership positions within the House Leadership team for the 114th and 115th Congress. Prior to their tenure in Congress, Walters served as a State Senator in the California State Senate from 2008 to 2014. Mimi began their political career as an Assemblywoman in the California State Assembly from 2004 to 2008, where they held the Vice-Chair position of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and was appointed Assembly Assistant Republican Leader.
In addition to their political roles, Walters has also held various board member positions. Mimi became an Independent Board Member for B. Riley Financial in 2019 and for Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. in 2020. Mimi also served as a Founding Board Member for Apollo Pact, Inc. in 2020. Moreover, Walters served as the Chief Commercial Officer for Leading Edge Power Solutions, LLC in 2019.
Walters further expanded their professional portfolio by working as a Teaching Fellow at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in 2020 and as a Fellow at AU Sine Institute of Policy & Politics in 2023. Mimi also had a brief role at Charter Communications, where they participated in the weekly segment "The Right of Way" with Alex Cohen on "Inside the Issues" from 2021 to 2023.
Mimi Walters obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from UCLA, completing their studies between 1980 and 1984.
