Tom Burton

Tom Burton began their work experience in 1997 when they co-founded InRoads Technology, where they served as CEO until 2008. InRoads Technology specialized in providing software tools and professional services to Fortune 1000 companies for implementing large enterprise software systems.

After leaving InRoads, Tom Burton went on to invest in and become the Chief Strategy Officer for Net Reach Solutions in 2007. Net Reach developed software for managing complex commercial real estate transactions. Tom played a key role in developing and implementing the company's positioning and go-to-market strategy.

In 2008, Tom joined Intuit as a Principal, where they were responsible for developing and launching professional service solutions for emerging product offerings within the Intuit Real Estate Solutions division. It was during their time at Intuit that they became interested in digital marketing and the potential it held.

In 2009, Tom co-founded Spark Interactive, an online community development company that utilized digital marketing and artificial intelligence strategies. However, due to market conditions, Spark Interactive closed in 2012.

Tom's next venture was as VP of Marketing and Interim President, North America, at Pacsoft from 2013 to 2014. Tom then co-founded Social Marketing Noise, a digital marketing agency that provided training and agency services to B2B and B2C businesses. In 2018, Social Marketing Noise merged with LeadSmart Technologies, a SaaS company co-founded and invested in by Tom. LeadSmart specializes in CRM, marketing automation, and partner collaboration tools for small and mid-sized businesses.

In 2014, Tom became a Partner at Sunwest Ventures and helped launch the Sunwest Channel Tech Fund in 2021. Sunwest Ventures is an investment and advisory firm that focuses on helping companies that go to market using channels and partner ecosystems.

Tom's most recent accomplishment was the release of their first book, "The Revenue Zone," in 2022. The book provides a step-by-step approach and playbook for converting prospects into customers in a buyer-driven market.

Additionally, Tom has served as a board advisor for Buy It Installed, Inc. from 2019 to 2022.

Tom Burton attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA from 1979 to 1982. Tom then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara from 1982 to 1986.
