Derek Leatzow

Derek Leatzow has a diverse work experience in the operations and engineering fields. Derek started their career at Insight Product Development as a Development Engineer in 2011 and was promoted to Senior Development Engineer in 2015. In 2016, Derek joined Leapfrog Brands as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and later became an Engineering Manager in 2018. Derek then progressed to the role of Senior Manager of Operations in 2021 and currently holds the position of Director Of Operations at Leapfrog Brands since October 2021.

Derek Leatzow earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, which they attended from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they spent a year at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they studied Engineering from 2004 to 2005. Derek completed their high school education at Marian Catholic High School from 2000 to 2004.

Later, Derek pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2019 to 2021. Derek obtained several additional certifications, including an Entrepreneurship and Strategic Innovation Specialization, a Strategic Leadership & Management Specialization, and a Digital Marketing Specialization, all from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition, Derek obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in 2015.
