Dax Balfour

Dax Balfour currently serves as the Head of Maths and English at The National Careers College since August 2018, while also providing general and long-term cover as a supply teacher since April 2019. With a robust teaching background, Dax has been a Functional Skills Teacher at Learndirect Limited since December 2014, excelling in a target-driven environment and teaching students from diverse backgrounds. Prior experience includes roles as a History Lecturer at City College Plymouth and a supply teacher in various schools across the South West, teaching History, Geography, Maths, and English. Dax's earlier career includes work as a laminator at Princess Yachts International plc and as a general builder at KMS Shop Fitters. Dax served in the British Army as an Air Trooper 1st Class from November 1996 to January 2000. Dax holds an Honours Degree in History from the University of Plymouth, completed between 2009 and 2012.
