Gilles van Nieuwenhuyzen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Gilles is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Lecta, a leading European manufacturer and distributor of specialty papers. Prior to this, Gilles worked as an Independent Advisor & Interim Executive, focusing on strategic growth, including M&A, transformation, and performance improvement for industrial companies and private equity. Gilles also served as the Executive Vice President and Head of Packaging Solutions Division at Stora Enso and President of the Enablers division at Danisco. Gilles has held various leadership positions in different companies, including Managing Director at Executive Interim Management, Executive Board Member at CSM, Director, President, and CEO of PURAC division at CSM, and Vice President & General Manager Europe at Rexam. Additionally, they have experience at DSM Engineering Plastics as a Global Business Manager and Marketing and Sales Director. Gilles started their career at McKinsey & Company as an Associate.
Gilles van Nieuwenhuyzen completed an MBA degree at INSEAD in 1989, after which they pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, which they obtained between 1977 and 1983.
