Bogdan Comanita

Bogdan Comanita has extensive work experience across various industries. Bogdan started their career as a NSERC Post Doc and Junior Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada in 1997. Bogdan then worked as a Senior Scientist at Brantford Chemicals (Apotex Pharmachem) where they managed multiple projects and authored several patents.

In 2004, Comanita joined Penn Speciality Chemicals Inc as the Director of Marketing & Sales Europe. Bogdan successfully repositioned the company as a leader in biobased chemicals and implemented strategic changes. Bogdan also established new centers and alliances to improve customer service and enhance the company's image. Comanita managed to significantly increase sales during their tenure.

In 2007, they became the Director of Global Business Development at Apotex Fermentation Inc. Here, they developed and implemented strategies to reposition the company and introduced new contracts in the biotechnology industry.

In 2008, Comanita joined Pennakem LLC as the Director of Marketing & Sales Europe. Bogdan was responsible for marketing, business development, and sales activities, with a focus on renewable resources. Bogdan successfully contributed to the commercial growth of the company.

Comanita then served as the Executive Vice-President of the University of Ottawa Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013. During this time, they played a key role in the association's leadership.

In 2011, they also became the Managing Partner of MarketChemica Associates, specializing in M&A Advisory and Management Consulting services for the fine and speciality chemicals industry. Comanita's approach was market-centric and focused on delivering value to clients.

Bogdan'smost recent position, starting in 2018, is serving as a Strategic Marketing Expert at Lee Enterprises Consulting.

Bogdan Comanita obtained a degree in Fine Chemicals Technology with a specialization in Chemical Engineering from Institutul Poltehnic Iasi. Bogdan attended this institution from 1979 to 1984. Later on, they pursued further education at the University of Ottawa, where they completed their PhD in Chemistry from 1991 to 1997. Lastly, they attended the Ivey Business School at Western University and earned an MBA degree with a specialization in Finance & International Management between 2001 and 2003.
