Richard Campbell

Faculty, Instructor Of Outdoor Recreation Management at Lees-McRae College

Richard Campbell is an experienced educator and facilitator in the field of outdoor recreation management. Currently serving as a faculty instructor at Lees-McRae College since August 2023, Richard has also been a trainer and facilitator at Blue Ridge Learning Center Inc since January 2010, specializing in various ropes courses. Previously, Richard held roles at Appalachian State University from August 1996 to June 2023, including Recreation Management Faculty and Associate Director for Educational Programs, overseeing outdoor programs and recreational activities. Richard's international experience includes a faculty exchange position at Ara Institute of Canterbury from June 2006 to July 2007. Richard's career began at the Eagle's Nest Foundation as Associate Director from January 1992 to August 1994. Richard holds a Master of Arts in College Student Development and a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University, alongside ongoing training with NOLS since 1991.
