Brook Laforest has a diverse range of work experience. In 2017, they worked as a Policy Intern at the City of Ottawa. In 2018, they were a Summer Student at Hicks Adams LLP, followed by a role as a Caseworker at Queen's Legal Aid. In 2019, Brook was a Student Intern at Public Safety Canada. They then became an Articling Student at Hicks Adams LLP from 2019 to 2020. Brook's next role was as a Crown Prosecutor at the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service in 2020. They then transitioned to LMS Lawyers LLP, where they served as an Associate Lawyer from 2021 to 2023. Currently, Brook is working as a Duty Counsel at Legal Aid Ontario, starting in February 2023.
Brook Laforest earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminology from Carleton University, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. Subsequently, they pursued a Juris Doctor degree in Law from Queen's University, completing their studies from 2016 to 2019. In June 2020, they obtained the certification of Call to the Bar from the Law Society of Ontario.
