Jennifer J. Lau has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Jennifer J. started their career as a Family Law Lawyer and Student-at-Law at Sorley & Still, Barristers and Solicitors in August 2007 and worked there until November 2010. From December 2010 to July 2012, they served as a Collaborative Family Law Lawyer at Fryer & Associates - Barristers, Solicitors, Notaries Public. In April 2013, Jennifer started their own firm, Lau Law Professional Corporation, where they worked as an Advice Lawyer and Accredited Family Mediator. Jennifer J. also worked at Legal Aid Ontario as a Family Duty Counsel and Advice Counsel at the Newmarket Courthouse from September 2015. Most recently, they held the position of Collaborative Family Law Lawyer and Accredited Mediator at Galbraith Family Law from October 2017 to August 2019.

Jennifer J. Lau completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, from 2000 to 2004. Jennifer J. then pursued further studies and obtained a LL.B. degree from Dalhousie University - Schulich School of Law, completing their program from 2004 to 2007.
