Deepa Bijpuria

Deepa Bijpuria is an experienced legal professional specializing in immigrant rights and services. Currently serving as the Director of the Immigrants' Rights Legal Services Project at Legal Aid DC since February 2024, Bijpuria previously held the position of Managing Immigration Attorney at Ayuda from December 2021 to February 2024, where leadership of the immigration team focused on providing legal services to low-income immigrants. Prior roles include Supervising Attorney and Immigration Staff Attorney at Tahirih Justice Center, dedicated to helping immigrant women and girls facing gender-based persecution, and Project Director and Staff Attorney at The Women's Law Center of Maryland, overseeing legal representation for foreign-born victims. Bijpuria earned a JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a BS in social policy from Northwestern University.
