Julie Owsik Ackerman

Julie Owsik Ackerman has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. In 1999, they began their career as an Accredited Representative at Catholic Social Services. Julie then worked as an Intern at the US Immigration Court in 2003. In 2005, they became an Associate at Blank Rome, LLP. From 2008 to 2016, they worked at Temple University Beasley School of Law as the Assistant Director of the LEAP Program. During this time, they also worked as a Writer and their essays appeared in outlets such as The L.A. Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Chicago Tribune. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Teacher at St. James School. In 2018, they became a Law Clerk at the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. From 2017 to 2020, they worked at Girls Write Out as a Writing Instructor. In 2020, they began working as a Legal Content Writer and Editor. Currently, they are a Communications Manager + Legal Content Writer at Legal Internet Solutions Inc.

Julie Owsik Ackerman completed their Doctor of Law (JD) from Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law from 2002 to 2005. Julie obtained their BA in Anthropology from Fordham University from 1994 to 1998. In 1996 and 1997, they attended the Center for Global Education. Julie also attended Merion Mercy Academy and St. Bernadette's, though the years are unknown.
