Housing, Elder, And Consumer Law Attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia

Benjamin Apt is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in housing, elder, consumer, and immigration law. Currently serving as a Housing, Elder, and Consumer law attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia since June 2023, Benjamin previously worked as a Housing Attorney at the Legal Aid Justice Center and as a Staff Attorney at DC-MD Justice For Our Neighbors. Prior to these roles, Benjamin had a distinguished 17-year career at the U.S. Department of Labor, notably as Acting Deputy Director for Criminal Enforcement, providing legal counsel on criminal enforcement programs. Benjamin also has experience in judicial reform and international rule of law, having worked with various international organizations, and has held roles in legal analysis and litigation throughout a diverse career starting in the late 1980s. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College, a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University, and both a JD and a Master’s in International Relations from Boston University.
