Associate General Counsel at Legatum

Matthew Linnell has a diverse work experience that spans various legal roles. Matthew is currently an Associate General Counsel at Legatum, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Attorney at Squire Patton Boggs from March 2022 to March 2023. Matthew also served as an Associate Attorney at Ropers Majeski PC from December 2019 to March 2022. In 2019, Matthew gained experience as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Otis Wright II at the U.S. District Courts, where they assisted with various legal matters. Matthew also worked as a Summer Associate at Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley in 2018. In 2017, they served as a Judicial Extern at the Office of the Technical Advisor to the Judiciary, where they conducted research and drafted legal memos on various legal issues in Uganda. Matthew started their legal career as an Editor at Lee & Hayes, PLLC from September 2015 to May 2016. Before that, they interned at the McLennan County Criminal District Attorney's Office in the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Division, where they assisted with criminal discovery reports and victim outreach. Matthew Linnell's education history includes obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine Law between 2016 and 2019. Prior to that, they attended Baylor University from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Fellows with a focus on Finance and Public Relations. Additionally, Matthew has acquired certifications as a Licensed Attorney from the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the State Bar of California, and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
