Matthew R. Sorrentino

Matthew R. Sorrentino, Esq., was named Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) in 2018. In this role, he provides counsel for leadership, acting as an advisor as the health network grows and navigates changes and complex regulations governing health care delivery locally and nationally. In addition, he coordinates all legal matters and provides oversight for compliance and audit, government affairs, legal services and risk management functions.

Immediately prior to assuming this role, Mr. Sorrentino was Chairman and Managing Partner of Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus P.A., and prior to that, Chairman of Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, P.C. He has been a longtime outside counsel and a tireless friend of and advocate for LVHN. He advised Muhlenberg Hospital Center during its merger with LVHN in the late 1990s and then became a highly trusted advisor to LVHN. Highlights of his work for LVHN include creation of imaging partnerships, development of Health Network Laboratories, L.P., and guiding the mergers of Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Hazleton, LVH–Pocono and LVH–Schuylkill.

Mr. Sorrentino earned a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Muhlenberg College. He also served in the Army Reserves.

Mr. Sorrentino is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Lehigh County and Northampton County Bar Associations. He has been admitted to the Bars of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, U.S. Court of Appeals (3rd Cir.) and U.S. Supreme Court. He is on the Board of Governors of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.
