Roger Bannister

Roger Bannister is currently the Deputy Chief Constable at Leicestershire Police, a position held since June 2013, where responsibilities encompass deputizing for the Chief Constable, leading force change initiatives, managing the Professional Standards Department, and overseeing strategic developments in tackling Child Sexual Exploitation. Bannister serves as the regional NPCC lead for Prevent, Hostage Crisis Negotiators, and criminal justice, and is also the national NPCC lead for Covert Human Intelligence Sources. Previously, Bannister held the role of Assistant Chief Constable (Crime) at Leicestershire Police, leading the crime portfolio, and served as Assistant Chief Constable (Crime and Operations) and Detective Chief Superintendent at Lincolnshire Police, focusing on major and serious organized crime investigations. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Portsmouth.
