Cicely Sharafati has a diverse work experience. Cicely started their career in 2014 as a Front-End Cashier at Harris Teeter, where they worked until July 2016. In 2019, they joined the NASA WV Space Grant Consortium as an Undergraduate Research Fellow during the summer. Later that year, they became a Telescope Assistant at the WVU Department of Physics and Astronomy, a position they held until May 2022. In 2020, they interned as an Engineering Intern at NASA Langley Research Center for the summer. In 2021, they were selected as a NASA Academy Research Intern at the same research center. Cicely's most recent job is as a Mission Operations Engineer at Lentech Inc., where they started in January 2023.
Cicely Sharafati attended West Virginia University from 2016 to 2022, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. In addition, they obtained a FCC Technician Class License from the Federal Communications Commission in January 2019 and a Level 1 High Power Rocketry Certification from the Tripoli Rocketry Association in July 2019.
