Dr. Ethell discovered an aging mechanism that allows Alzheimer’s disease pathology to begin. He received a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, was a Human Frontiers of Science Long-term Fellow at the Max Planck Inst for Psychiatry in Germany, and was a Research Associate at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. He ran Alzheimer’s disease research studies at the La Jolla Inst for Immunology and joined the faculty at the Univ of California Riverside, before founding the Molecular Neurobiology Group at the Western Univ of Health Sciences, where he was also Chair of Neuroscience, and the Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences. He has studied Alzheimer’s disease for 20 years, been awarded >$5M in research funding, and authored >85 papers & presentations.
