Derek Silva

Derek Silva has extensive experience in various roles throughout their career. Derek worked as the Head of Blockchain Marketing at Liberland starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as the President of CommComm since 2018. In 2019, Derek worked as a Community Manager at Orchid. Derek also served as a Councillor, Ward 4 at the Municipality of Middlesex Centre from 2016 to 2020. Before that, Derek was the Head of Community & Developer Relations at Bloom Protocol from 2018 to 2020. Derek also held positions such as Linux System Administrator at CleverHost, Production Coordinator at Olio Digital Labs Inc., Project Manager at Phuse.ca, Operations Specialist at World Wide Web Hosting LLC, and Product Support Specialist & Trainer at AV-Base Systems, Inc. throughout their career.

Derek Silva received a diploma in Computer Systems Technology from Fanshawe College from 2001 to 2004. Derek also obtained additional certifications such as Inbound Certification and Inbound Sales Certification from HubSpot in June 2016, and a Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance in March 2015. Additionally, Derek acquired the Brocade Accredited Internetworking Specialist (BAIS) certification from Brocade Communications Systems in 2013, as well as the IPv6 Newbie certification from Hurricane Electric in the same year.
