Ian Dixon has a diverse work experience in the field of sports development and management. Ian started their career as a Sport Development Officer at Activ Barnsley in 2003 and worked there until 2007. Ian then joined Life Leisure as a Sport Development Officer until 2010, after which they were promoted to the role of Sport Stockport Partnership Manager until 2018. From 2018 to 2020, they served as the Head of Sport Development at Life Leisure. Currently, Ian is working at Life Leisure as the Head of Development & Communities since 2020. Alongside their work at Life Leisure, Ian served as a Board Member at Stockport Town FC from 2014 to 2019.
Ian Dixon graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Development & Physical Education. Prior to that, they attended Barnsley College from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Sport Studies. Their high school education was at Priory School from 1993 to 1998. Additionally, Ian has achieved certifications including NEBOSH - General Certificate in 2021, PRINCE2® 2017 Practitioner and PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training in 2019, NVQ level 3 - Line Management in 2008, and Recruitment & Selection training in 2008.
