Michael Pfeifer has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Michael began their career at Aventis in 2001, where they served as the medical franchise leader and senior medical director for diabetes, metabolism, and obesity. During their time at Aventis, they successfully launched Lantus insulin. In 2003, they joined Sanofi, where they were responsible for pre-launch activities and the development of a post-approval medical plan for Acomplia. Michael then moved on to Novo Nordisk in 2005, where they directed a team responsible for all US medical activities for the diabetes portfolio. In 2005, they joined Janssen, a Pharmaceutical Company of Johnson & Johnson, as a Senior Director, leading the global metabolism franchise development. In 2010, they became the Chief Medical Officer for the Diabetes Care Franchise at Johnson & Johnson. In 2013, they assumed the role of Senior Director of US Medical Affairs at Janssen. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in metabolic agents and insulin treatments.
Michael Pfeifer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Bellarmine University in 1969. Michael then went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Louisville School of Medicine between 1969 and 1973. Additionally, they pursued further education, completing a Master of Science (MS) in Microbiology, General from the University of Louisville from 1969 to 1974.
