Mark Assad has extensive work experience in the technology and finance industries. Mark has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.
Starting in 1996, Mark worked as a Programmer at WebLink for six years. Mark then joined Avega Systems in 2003 as a Developer for a short period.
In 2007, Mark became an ITG Associate at Macquarie, where they worked for a little over a year. Following that, they joined Boronia Capital Pty Ltd in 2008 as a Computer Scientist for three years.
In 2011, Mark joined Tibra Capital as the HF Algo Development Team Lead, a position they held until 2013.
From 2014 to 2016, Mark worked at Atlassian as a Senior Performance Engineer before transitioning to the role of Performance Architect.
In 2016, Mark started their journey at Life Trading as a Senior Developer, a position they held until 2020. Mark then became the Head of Infrastructure & DevOps before taking on their current position as the Head of Infrastructure, DevOps, and FAST.
In 2021, Mark also served as a Technology Startup Advisor at Mason.
Throughout their career, Mark Assad has gained extensive experience and expertise in infrastructure, DevOps, and technology development.
Mark Assad completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Technology (Advanced) with honors at the University of Sydney from 1998 to 2002. During that time, they also participated in the Education Abroad Program at UC San Diego in 2000, where they focused on Computer Science. Afterwards, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from 2003 to 2009 at the University of Sydney.
