James Thornbrue

James Thornbrue is an experienced data scientist and engineer with a robust background in algorithm development and data analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Life360 since January 2018, James has focused on creating algorithms for activity detection and enhancing geofencing accuracy. Previous roles include leading algorithm development at Blast Motion, where James specialized in swing insights for golf and baseball, and heading projects at PathSense, Inc. centered on mobile and server-side location solutions. With a strong foundation established through positions at the University of California, San Diego, Georgia Tech Research Institute, Numerica Corporation, and Raytheon Missile Systems, James has developed expertise in machine learning, data fusion, and multi-sensor tracking algorithms. James holds an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
