Will Pry has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Will most recently worked as the Director of Content at Lifeblue, a full-service digital agency specializing in content services, web development, and design. In this role, they built and led the content services arm of the agency, focusing on content strategy, marketing, delivery, and thought leadership.
Prior to that, Will had a role as a Contributing Writer and Editor at the American Heart Association. Will also played a significant role in the transformation of the newsroom at The Dallas Morning News, where they served as the Editor of the News Vertical, DallasNews.com. Will led the transition to a digital-first news team, emphasizing breaking news, innovative journalism, and increasing audience engagement. Will was also responsible for managing the largest content vertical in the newsroom, overseeing a team of 60+ reporters and editors.
Before their time at The Dallas Morning News, Will held various roles at Beckett Media and Denton Record-Chronicle. At Beckett Media, they served as an Assistant Editor, managing the production of magazines and books focused on sports collecting. At Denton Record-Chronicle, they progressed from a newsroom clerk to become the Night News Editor, responsible for producing various sections of the daily community newspaper and determining story placement and page design.
Throughout their career, Will has shown a strong focus on digital innovation, team management, content strategy, and delivering high-quality and impactful content.
Will Pry has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology from the University of North Texas. In 2009, they participated in the Poynter McCormick Change Leadership Fellow program at the Poynter Institute. In 2015, they joined the Poynter Institute's Punch Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program (now MTC at Poynter). Will also completed the Poynter Leadership Academy at an unspecified time. Additionally, they obtained a certification as an MBTI Practitioner, specializing in Step I and Step II Instruments, from the Myers-Briggs Instructor in April 2021.
