Kevin Myer has extensive work experience in the healthcare and emergency services industry. Kevin began their career as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Fairfax Fire and Rescue Services, serving in various roles from 1985 to 1990. Kevin then transitioned to the field of organ donation and transplantation, working at LifeNet Health from 1997 to 2007. During their time there, they held positions such as Vice-President, Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and Director of Operations. Afterward, they joined MDS Pharma Services as Director, Site Administrator, where they successfully developed and managed a clinical research site. From 2009 to 2012, Kevin worked at the Center for Transplant System Excellence, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), as Business Director, Assistant Director of Evaluation and Quality, and Co-Investigator on the HRSA/OPTN Deceased Donor Potential Study. Since 2013, they have been with LifeGift, where they currently serve as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Kevin Myer has a diverse educational background. From 1979 to 1983, they attended Cornell University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Later, between 1993 and 1995, Myer pursued a Master of Science in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2006, they completed a fellowship in Patient Safety at the same institution.
In addition to their formal education, Myer has also obtained several certifications. In July 2019, they completed the Mergers & Acquisitions Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In March 2017, they obtained certification in "The Innovative Health Care Leader: From Design Thinking to Personal Leadership," also from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Furthermore, they participated in the Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford Graduate School of Business from February 7-12, 2016, although specific details regarding the month and year of certification are not provided.
