Denise Vergis Matos

Denise Vergis Matos has had extensive work experience in the field of corporate compliance. Denise currently holds the position of Sr. VP of Quality & Compliance and Compliance Officer at Life's WORC since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President of Quality & Compliance and Interim CCO at the same company from October 2022 to March 2023. Starting their career, Denise was the Director of Compliance and Interim CCO at Life's WORC from March 2019 to October 2022.

Denise also worked at AHRC Suffolk as a Senior Compliance Specialist from August 2015 to March 2019, where they were responsible for reviewing and revising compliance policies, conducting internal fiscal and documentation monitoring reviews, and performing thorough investigations for compliance-related issues. Denise has also worked at ACLD, where they held various roles from 1989 to 2015, including QM-Corporate Compliance, Day Services Staff Trainer, and Instructor/Client Coordinator. In addition, they worked as an Independent Living Skills Trainer at RES company from 2010 to 2011.

Denise Vergis Matos completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Albany, SUNY, from 1984 to 1988. Denise also obtained an Associates degree in Business Administration from NCC from 1984 to 1986. Additionally, they have certifications including CHC- Certified in Healthcare Compliance from the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) and BLS and Heart Saver Instructor from the American Heart Association, obtained in 2019 and 2004 respectively.
