Westy Malik

Westy Malik's work experience begins in 2003 when they worked as a Software Engineer at SPEC, developing software and hardware for small and medium-sized companies. They then moved on to work as a Requirements and Coordination specialist at TENEA TECNOLOGIAS, where they completed a project for HP. Following that, they worked as an RFID Analyst at Information Highway Group, participating in two RFID pilot projects. In 2007, they joined the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya as a Project Coordinator & Researcher, conducting research on smart object specifications.

In 2008, they worked as an IT Project Manager at Wipro Technologies, leading the release 3 project for the client Zurich. They then took on a role as a Freelance Data/Cloud Engineer Devops, scripting data pipelines and administering AWS, Windows, Linux, and SQLServer. They later joined Comet Global Consulting as a Devops Engineer, where they focused on AWS cloud engineering for the marketing platform used by Virgin Trains.

In 2017, they joined Casumo as a Devops Engineer, specializing in AWS cloud engineering and automation for the online gaming platform. They then moved on to ALBORA in 2019, serving as a DevOps Architect. In this role, they focused on Linux operating systems, deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and security principles.

Most recently, since 2021, Westy Malik has been working as a Cloud Engineer at LIFULL Connect. Here, they specialize in Linux operating systems, deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, Amazon Web Services, container orchestration, security principles, and building high availability and elastic architectures. They also have experience in implementing single sign-on and building metrics, logging, analytics, and alerting systems.

Throughout their career, Westy Malik has consistently demonstrated expertise in cloud engineering, DevOps, and IT project management, with a strong focus on automation, security, and scalability.

Westy Malik began their education at Sahoday School, where they attended from 1981 to 1991 for primary and secondary education. Following this, they attended Apeejay School (Sr. Secondary) from 1991 to 1993, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned during this time. From 1994 to 1998, Westy pursued a Engineer's Degree in Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

In addition to their formal education, Westy obtained certifications from Microsoft. In May 2015, they became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases. Prior to that, in December 2014, they achieved the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification in Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
