Metrology Engineering/Operations Manager at Lighter Than Air

Nathan Silva has a diverse work experience that spans different industries. From January 2019 to May 2020, they worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Heinzen Manufacturing, Intl., where they were responsible for designing, drafting, and releasing mechanical systems for agricultural and food processing industries. Nathan also assisted in research, development, testing, and validation of potential products.

In August 2018, Nathan joined Spartan Racing, SJSU Formula SAE, where they held the roles of Powertrain Engineer and Final Drive Engineer. As a Powertrain Engineer, they designed, manufactured, and tested critical system components for the racing team.

Most recently, from May 2020 to present, Nathan worked at LTA Research and Exploration as a Metrology Engineer. Nathan was involved in the organization of personnel, resources, equipment, and engineering assets for high precision metrological processes. Nathan conceptualized and produced tooling and digital assets for inspection, alignment, and analysis of flight-grade hardware and assemblies. Nathan also optimized procedures and planning while coordinating with various divisions of the company to streamline inspection and metrology operations.

Nathan Silva has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they obtained from San Jose State University from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they attended Gavilan College from 2014 to 2017, where they earned an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, in March 2020, they obtained a certification as a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate in Mechanical Design from the CCE Group | CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE institution.
