Arif Syed

Arif Syed is an experienced Access Technology Specialist currently working at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired since June 2023. Prior to this role, Arif served as the Coordinator of Assistive Technology at the Hatlen Center for the Blind from February 2004 to June 2023, where responsibilities included assessing new student skill levels and developing individualized curricula, as well as enhancing clients' professional and life skills through a full immersion program. Earlier career experience includes the position of Office Manager, which involved managing office operations, bookkeeping, grant writing, and IT management. Arif holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley's Rausser College of Natural Resources, earned between 1997 and 2002.
