Gerard Rodriguez Lopez

Gerard Rodriguez Lopez is an experienced R&D Scientist and Engineer at LIGHTHOUSE Instruments since February 2019 and has served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Virginia's Laboratory for Atomic and Surface Physics (LASP) since August 2015. Expertise includes a range of materials characterization techniques such as X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES), UV-Vis-NIR optical spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Previous experience includes internships at Grifols in process development, focusing on optimizing pharmaceutical processes for industrial scalability and providing technical support for manufacturing operations. Gerard earned a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia in 2018 and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of South Carolina in 2014, complemented by a course in Leadership and Team Management from Escuela de Empresa in 2015.
