As CTO at Lightkeeper, Bill is responsible for making sure the system is secure, reliable and that features and fixes are delivered to customers as seamlessly as possible. In addition to architecting, designing and coding solutions, Bill works in consultation with other areas of the company to ensure that the development team is working on the highest value items.
Bill was formerly senior software engineer at Tamale Software, Inc, where he was one of its first developers. He was one of the earliest to be involved in just about every aspect of building the Research Management System software, including leading the server-side development team. While at Tamale, Bill decided he should attend business school in order to better understand Tamale’s users. He returned to software development with much deeper knowledge and understanding of the user base and their needs and expectations of software.
Bill earned his BS from Columbia University, and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. When Bill is not diligently programming and investigating new and better ways to build software, he is seeking the perfect carrier for cream cheese frosting, or playing ultimate frisbee, or rooting for the Yankees — even in all the years he’s been living in Boston. Bill is married to a fellow software engineer he met at Tamale, and together they have a son.
