Nikhil Kumar

Nikhil Kumar has extensive experience in the field of photonics and engineering. Nikhil currently holds the position of Principal Photonics Architect at Lightmatter. Prior to that, they worked at PsiQuantum where they held multiple roles, including Director of Photonic Integrated Circuits, System Architecture Lead, and Senior Photonics Engineer. Before PsiQuantum, Nikhil worked at NeoPhotonics as a Senior Engineer and at the Center for NanoScience and Engineering as a Research Associate III. Nikhil also gained experience as an R&D Engineer III at Skorpios Technologies, Inc. where they were involved in designing silicon photonics devices for optical communications. Nikhil's educational background includes a graduate degree from UC Berkeley and a role as an Assistant Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Nikhil'swork experience showcases a strong technical background and expertise in photonics engineering.

Nikhil Kumar holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, which was completed between 2007 and 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, which they completed between 2004 and 2006.
