Calvin Holic has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Calvin began their career as an Introduction to Microprocessors Teaching Assistant at the University at Buffalo in 2012. Calvin then worked as a Co-Op Engineer at AMD in 2013, where they specialized in pre-silicon floating point verification for microprocessors.
In 2014, Calvin joined Engineers for a Sustainable World as a Chapter Relations Coordinator, responsible for maintaining relationships between the organization's leadership team and chapters in the Midwest region. Calvin later became the Deputy Director, leading the executive committee and overseeing recruitment efforts.
Moving into the industry, Calvin worked at AMD as a Design Engineer and later as a Senior Design Engineer from 2014 to 2018. During this time, they focused on computer architecture and conducted research on memory access patterns for GPU applications.
Calvin then transitioned to the electric vehicle industry, working as a Vehicle Engineer for both Scoot Networks and Bird from 2018 to 2020. Calvin contributed to research and development as well as integration efforts in these roles.
In 2020, Calvin became self-employed as an Engineering Consultant before taking on the role of Engineering Manager for Hardware Systems at Spin in 2022. Calvin was responsible for managing the hardware systems engineering team.
Currently, Calvin is working as a Senior Integration Engineer at Lightship, starting in 2023.
Calvin Holic completed their education with a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they acquired a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics from the University at Buffalo, where they studied from 2008 to 2012.
