Julie Whitman is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in program direction and nonprofit leadership. Currently serving as the Program Director at Lilly Endowment since March 2023, Whitman also holds the position of Board Member at Hussey Mayfield Memorial Public Library. Prior roles include Executive Director of the Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana and Vice President of Programs at the Indiana Youth Institute. Whitman's earlier career features significant contributions as a Town Council Member for the Town of Whitestown and Director of Special Projects at the National Center for Victims of Crime. Additionally, Whitman has experience as a consultant for the US DOJ Office for Victims of Crime and has held positions in various organizations including the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress and Earthen Vessels. Whitman holds a Master of Social Work from Boston College and an AB in Romance Languages from Harvard University.
